Four Italian Events and How to Reach Them by Coach

Big events change the rules of the towns that host them: crowds, closed streets and coach zones under pressure. Each page gives the 2027 dates and the coach plan around them.

What each event means for the coach

Carnival in Venice fills the city from 23 January until Shrove Tuesday, 9 February 2027, and coaches stop at Piazzale Roma, a walk or waterbus ride from San Marco. Siena races its Palio on 2 July and again on 16 August 2027; a race can slip to the following day, as July 2026's did, so keep the coach booking flexible. The Comune's rules for the day apply in the Campo.

Opera at the Verona Arena runs from 11 June to 11 September 2027, always in the evening, and a late finish counts against the driver's hours. The Salone del Mobile is at Fiera Milano Rho from 13 to 18 April 2027 and opens to the public only on 17 and 18 April.

Questions organisers ask

What if the Palio is postponed?

It moves to the next day. Ask for a quote that allows for the change, or for a second evening.

Can the coach wait during the opera?

Coaches park only at the Parcheggio Centro or the Stadio C coach park, and the driver needs rest before the next day.

Can a school group visit the Salone?

Students are admitted from 16 to 18 April 2027. Children under ten are not admitted on trade days.
